Walked the dawgs this morning under grey skies. You could sense Fall in the air and the musty smell of leaves on the ground and it just feels like change is coming.
The book is done - at least the first part - and it's the time of year where everyone is going back to school. Even me. I've enrolled myself in a two year (or more, depending upon one's ambition and drive) photography certificate program at Langara College. It's part of their ongoing education department and I'm hoping to bone up on my digital photography and computer skills. As in marathoning, you can only fake it for so long with cameras and computers! The course attracts dedicated amateurs and aspiring commercial photographers. I have no idea where I fall on that continuum, but I did get a real kick out of getting a Student ID number again. Old man on Campus...
I actually ran three times so far this week and even did back to back speed work-outs. Minus the speed that is. I've even lost five pounds since finishing the book. Less stress and fewer excuses. Even my knee seems to appreciate the time off. No Boston qualifiers in the immediate future, but the future is a big place. Who knows what it holds?

Last weekend, I whipped mine out (student ID) for a bunch of college kids who were helping at a meet I was working. They seemed to enjoy the idea of a 50ish undergrad (my 2nd degree). BTW, I'm going to take a crack (some taking a crack - walking it!) at Toronto Waterfront next weekend, dressed as Johnny Hayes, the 1908 Olympic Marathon winner.
